Ateu Studio Digital License Agreement for Seamless Pattern Files
Important Usage Principles
The Design must remain part of a unified surface pattern or applied artwork and may not be deconstructed, separated, or repurposed for standalone or independent use. Designs are supplied as flattened files and may not be altered to remove backgrounds or isolate individual elements.
Physical products refer to tangible, finished goods that are produced, printed, and sold in physical form only.
Digital products, downloadable files, printables, templates, or digital variants of physical goods are not permitted under this license.
Ateu Studio
At Ateu Studio, all digital patterns are hand-drawn original artwork, created with care for small businesses, makers, and creative brands.
Thank you for supporting independent illustration and small-batch creative work. Every design is hand-drawn by Ateu Studio and licensed with care — I hope it brings something special to your project.
This page explains how my seamless pattern files can be used, so you can create with confidence and clarity.
Here’s how you can use my artwork — and where the boundaries are.
What This License Applies To
This license applies to all digital seamless pattern files and digital paper designs purchased from Ateu Studio, including (but not limited to):
- Seamless repeating patterns
- Digital paper and surface designs
- Pattern bundles and colorway sets

What’s Included With Every Purchase
Standard Commercial License (Included)
Unless otherwise stated, every seamless pattern purchase from Ateu Studio includes a Standard Commercial License.
This license allows you to:
- ✅ Use the design for personal projects
- ✅ Use the design for small commercial use
- ✅ Create up to 500 physical end products
- ✅ Use the artwork for one (1) business or brand
No additional license is required as long as production stays within these limits.
Accepted Uses (Physical Products Only)
You may use Ateu Studio seamless patterns on physical end products, including:
- ✅ Wrapping paper
- ✅ Stationery and paper goods
- ✅ Stickers and labels
- ✅ Packaging and branded materials
- ✅ Vinyl, fabric, or handmade accessories
All permitted uses under this license must result in tangible, physical products only. Digital or downloadable end products (including printables, templates, or digital versions of physical goods) are not permitted.
Production adjustments
Light adjustments are permitted only as required for physical production (such as resizing). Deliberate recoloring, palette changes, transparency, or alteration of individual design elements is not permitted.
About physical product use
Cropping or partial visibility of the Design may naturally occur when applying the pattern to physical products (such as stickers, labels, or packaging). This is permitted as long as the artwork is not intentionally extracted, isolated, or repurposed as standalone elements.
What’s Not Allowed
To protect original artwork and ensure fair use, the following are not permitted under any license:
- ❌ Reselling, sharing, or redistributing the file in any digital format
- ❌ Offering the artwork as a download, asset, template, or clipart
- ❌ Uploading to Print-On-Demand platforms
- ❌ Including the file in design libraries or stock collections
- ❌ Claiming the artwork as your own or as “royalty-free”
- ❌ Extracting, isolating, or recreating individual illustrations or motifs for standalone use
The Design must remain part of a unified surface pattern or applied artwork and may not be deconstructed for separate or independent use.
Selling, distributing, or offering the Design or any derivative of it as a digital product, printable file, download-on-demand item, or digital template is not permitted.
Print-On-Demand (POD) Use
Print-On-Demand use is not permitted under any Ateu Studio license.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Spoonflower
- Redbubble
- Society6
- Printify
- Printful
- Zazzle
These platforms permanently store files in ways that conflict with limited-use licensing.
Production Over 500 Units — Extended License
If you plan to produce more than 500 physical end products using a Design, an Extended Commercial License is required.
This includes large-scale manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail production runs, or any ongoing production that exceeds 500 total units.

Transfers and Collaborations
Licenses are non-transferable.
Files may not be passed to other businesses, designers, or manufacturers beyond what is strictly necessary for physical production.
If another party wishes to use the design, they must purchase their own license from Ateu Studio.
Credit
Credit is not required, but always appreciated.
